He was 3,900 flying hours with over 800 hours in combat. He served as a forward air controller spotter pilot flying the O-1 Birddog in support of the 9th Infantry Division. He has also flown the T-37, T-39, T-41, AT-33, RC-135, KC-135, E-4, KC-10 and the B-52 aircraft.
