After enlisting in the Marine Corps at the age of 17 in 1940, Warren G. Beavers got the chance to travel the world. After helping secure Guadalcanal, Beavers went to the Northern Mariana Islands and would later participate in the Battle of the Coral Sea. Beavers served under "Red Mike," a brave, well-regarded captain who was killed in action at Guadalcanal.
