Republican Party State Nominating Convention - met at 12. noon - Miss Shaw myself & others had seats on the platform because - there could be no other place fixed for women - Judge Peters of Newton made Chairman - adjourned to appoint Committees till 3 P.M - during the recess brother D.R. & nephew D.R., Jr. called at Dr Teffts - but did not stay to a [?] the [?] - brother D.R. in his paper the L.
