I shall try and present it by me at your home in Glen Echo - in person - Ada Glen Echo, Md. March 10, 1 Mrs. Ada G. Mohr, Brooklyn, N.Y. My Dear Mrs. Mohr:- Your esteemed letter of March 11th reaching me on the 13th deserved not to have waited one day. The deep appreciation I feel for the loving faithfulness of your Auxiliary so ably led by yourself, faces me under a feeling of obligation which it would be the highest happiness to me to reciprocate in any way I could. I am happy to tell you that my health is very good. Remembering the unavoidable climatic influence which have controlled me during the entire Cuban war( a year and one-half in Cuba) and again on the field of Galveston, I have done this winter what I believed would have been the desire of the friends who love me, if they could have expressed it to me, viz, I have been very careful not to expose myself in any way, remain healthfully In my own home, performing with my assistants an amount of work that has astonished us all and given nature its opportunity to strengthen, unobstructed by colds and mishaps, the vitality which I had naturally somewhat impaired on those hard semi-tropical fields. The results have been excellent, not one touch of a cold in all winter and my health seems to me to be perfect. Naturally I have made no journeys and am2 not preparing for any yet, thus, dear Mrs. Mohr, let me through you, beg of the dear ladies to hold their loving gift until some time when I hope I may be with them an hour to say to them in person what I could not express here with my pen. Knowing that their elegant tribute waits for me, it is just as well in their hands as mine and I hope one day to come and take it from them, in the spirit in which they give it. with live to them and to you, dear Mrs. Mohr, I remain, Most cordially yours, [*Ansd. by Mrs Morh' commy to take out the tea set to me, which she did, April 4, accompanied by Mr Genl, Logan -*] Department New York Woman's Relief Corps.
