Blackwell Family GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE Fuller, Berenice Morrison Blackwell, Alice Stone [PRETIO PRUDENTIA PRÆSTAT] Feb. 27th 1933 My dear Miss Blackwell: It is always a pleasure to receive a line from you & to be told again of your kind thoughts of others. This time it is a message from our own Russian herooine. She is indeed wonderful to be still "carrying on," & I sympathizewarmly in the effort you are making to give her a joyful end. Unfortunately just now I see no possibility of contributing towards the fund, for we are all suffering from terribly lean pocketbooks, & today a drive for $600 000.00 is being started to keep what we call the character building institutions going! We have already contributed a hefty sum to keep our people from starving, but realize that the mind & soul must also be fed & the morals stiffened. Later maybe we can do something for Madame Breshkovsky. I hope with all my heart we may. With my very best wishes, Sincerely yours Berenice Morrison . Fuller
