Blackwell Family GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE Giles, Julia Blackwell, Alice StonePhalanx Dec 19th 1920 Dear A. S. Blackwell In reply to your letter of thanks, I wish to send a word to say, that we contributors are not the ones entitled to thanks, but you ladies, who make it your business and pleasure to ferret out the needy cases, and agitate and pioneer until we come in touch, so that partis made easy. I regret that I am not situated to do more. The calls made during the war have taken all I have to spare, but, I will keep your cause in mind and do what I can to help out. Your name is associated in my mind with public minded people. I do not know which of the Blackwells I am addressing - Lucy Stone Blackwell and her husband visited our place years ago The Phalanx at that time was a co-operative association that attracted many visitors. I also met E. Blackwell when she was connected with the woman's hospital in N Y City. I will not take the time of a busy woman to write more. Very sincerely Julia GilesJulia CB Giles Phalanx NJ
