I thank you very much 
for your many letters they are a great pleasure 
to me read them over many times. 
I lived so long in the family they seemed 
part of my life liked to do for them 
much of it was imperfect but it was 
my best Anna and Howard have nice 
family wish could see them grow up 
don't understand about Elizabeths 
school did they not let her go back 
to the one where she went before I like 
to have Elizabeth first class in every 
thing even [c??ies?]. hope you are where 
you can see the Autumn colors they are

all & can't find Alice Wrights 
place on the map. I think she said it 
was in the middle of the state he 
has an orange grove. am lost without 
the children don't feel like 
myself like Annas old clocks it 
strikes the hour is company in the 
night

Dear Alice 
I must thank you for 
the dear little Christmas card it is 
very pretty they all admired it.
We are staying with Mrs Kent who used
live in Gardner years ago someone that 
Mary used to know they are nice friendly 
people. wish had known sooner 
Florence would have gone to her 
[in] Florida I had a nice apartment 
paid for that was taken from me
because Mary did not want to go 
sooner and the woman was afraid 
it would not be occupied was sorry 
to lose it as it was near the cars and 
a little new church that I likedI mourn the loss of it every day. 
I would have paid her expenses to 
have come with me but it is too 
late now have to make the best 
of it. am feeling better for being 
here.
Mary went to see woman that takes 
boarers she asked 40 dollars a week 
for room and board the fare down 
here for a single person is 106 dollars 
the number here is 847 9th Ave
