Blackwell Family GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE Thompson, W. B. Blackwell, Alice Stone W. B. THOMPSON 1061 NORTH BROADWAY YONKERS, N.Y. March 27th, 1918. My dear Miss Blackwell: - Absence from the city for a considerable period is my excuse for sending you this belated acknowledgment of the receipt of your wonderful story and interpretation of Madame Breshkovsky, – your book "The Little Grandmother of the Russian Revolution." I have not yet had an opportunity to read the book but a hasty glance through it convinces me that I am to have much enjoyment in doing so. May I say that no feature of Russia, as I saw it, impressed me quite so deeply as the character of this wonderful woman, whose fight for the liberty of her people has been one of the great beacon lights of the world. I met her often in Petrograd and her splendid faith and patience, her unswerving devotion to the cause, and her untiring efforts even though long past three score years and ten, have affected me profoundly. With appreciation of your courtesy and thanks for your consideration, believe me, Sincerely yours, [?] Thompson Miss Alice Stone Blackwell, 3 Monadnock Street, Dorchester, Mass.
