Blackwell Family General Correspondence Woods, Amy Blackwell, Alice StonePrague July. 23, 1922 Dear Miss Blackwell I know you will be glad to see Madame Breshkovsky through my eyes. I called upon her Friday and had a delightful talk in a beautiful great garden full of flowers and trees and young people playing tennis. She looks so well with a fresh [pink?] in her cheeks and a lovely soft bright light in her eyes. She sees so well but is quite deaf so that one has to raise his voice for her to hear. She hashad hopeful news from Russia grain is plenty and in some sections there will be more than enough for local needs & some can be exported. Mrs Meller her companion and co-worker in the Karpato Rus schools has just returned from a three weeks visit to them and is so enthusiastic over the progress the girls & boys are making. Only money is needed to keep them going. I don't need to write you this I know for your picture over "Babuskka's" desk tells how closely you are in touch. I am going on to Warsaw tomorrow and then back to Varese to the vocation school of the Woman's International Ligue - I have been so happy to meet the brave women of the National Sections who are struggling to hold Peace as an ideal before the eyes of the war befuddled peoples of the world. I hope you are having a delightful vacation at Chilmark. It was good news to hear of Mrs. [Ratches?] Election & the Pan American Congress. Sincerely Amy WoodsAmy Woods
