some voyage, & have pleasant 
ass'n in Arns.

Strange to see an ancient civilization

[??] like Turks, who seem uncivilized.

At Roberts College then
[?] [?} had ever [?]thro' college. Shows don't appreciate
[civilz] education, sans wh no civiliz -
We owe much to old world -
are asylum for oppressed -
civiz must maintain its own
level & make itself respected, &
if don't protest against
we are not true to civilization.
Hope diplomacy may do something -
catch in silken net -
glad there are so many of you - 
you are our brothers now &
one sign you feel so is that
you ask us to help you, & I
earnestly hope we may be
able to help you, & not you
only, but all oppressed peoples.
