Blackwell Family Elizabeth Blackwell REDHEAD, S. E.St Mary Magdalen's Bradford Yorks: May 4, 1852 [*1852*] Dear Madam, Thank you heartily for your pamphlet "Christian Socialism". It has interested me hugely & warmed my heart. nay, it must warm every heart that knows anything your social blots & yearns to remove them. I should very much like to know more about the Autumn Conference & should so[???] it a great favour if I could have information as soon as [?] & plan are fined. I do wish some practical steps could be taken for some [?]-adjustment your social relations. The strained relation of capital & labour seems to cry for some scheme of amelioration. And the many questions your pamphlet alludes to are rapidly coming to the front for some solution or other. Ive seem in some ways to be getting to a deadlock. Thanking you earnestly for your kind & thoughtful gift. I remain yours very truly S E Redhead S E Redhead
