BLACKWELL FAMILY KITTY BARRY FELKER, EUNICE55 Castlebar Road Earling N. May 30th Dear Miss Mary. I have so often heard Miss Jebb speak of you. I I am glad to take this opporunity to you to thank you very much for the trouble you have taken for me about Nellie ChapmanI saw her on Tuesday, and she seemed quite inclined to come to us. But I think she fancied the place would be rather one for a lady help, and after my explaining to her that though I would show her every consideration, she must wear print dresses and caps like the house - parlourmaid, or there would be jealousy etc, she thought the question over again Then when I saw her again yesterday she told me she felt she should not quite like living in the kitchen always with another servant, & further that Mrs. Pryor felt the idea of parting with her, I had offered her a home with herI should have asked to try this girl, for both my husband & I took to her, but I don’t think she would have felt quite happy in the position so it is better as it is All the same I thank you warmly for your kind help. We have a cook coming on Tuesday - so I hope the servant trouble is over for the present My husband much enjoyed the time he had with you and Dr Blackwell when with Miss Gibb and my small Lou evidently has brought only a soft place inhis heart for you. I hope if you & Dr Blackwell are in our neighbourhood you will give us the pleasure of a visit & with united kind regards Believe me Yrs sincerely Eunice FelkerEunice Felker
