My dearest Kitty
I have been 
so occupied lately, which 
is my only excuse for 
not writing to you before.I was hoping to go to 
dear Mother's and Mary's; 
when first the cook 
took ill and went home it 
was a slight attack of
scarlitina the Dr. said
& in a few days the 
housemaid took ill also
& went home, she lived
in the country & her Dr. said
 
it was not scarlitina but
either drain poisoning or 
some thoroughly wrong with 
indigestion. We have had the 
rooms disinfected & all 
the things taken to be 
baked & now the drains
are being thoroughly overhauled.
the girls will not return 
D.V. until next week.  &
then all the spring cleaning!! 
has to be done before I can 
get away. You know 
they are at [??nau?e] now, 
& Mary is going to have ayoung nurse. How is 
Dr.  & when did you hear
from Florence?  & Miss Marion
when you write to either 
will you please say I have
sent my love, perhaps 
they have forgotten me.
