Dear Miss Barry-Blackwell,

On my return last week
I called on Mrs. Parker, Firwood,
and she gave me the record of 
your experiences in outward
journey; which I read with
very great pleasure.  I am
so glad that everything was so
pleasant and the reception so
satisfactory; which is just
what you deserve.Then, two days later, Mrs. Parker
came up to the manse and handed
me a letter which on opening, I
found to contain £10; this gave
me a great surprise, as I meant
that you should have the picture
gratis as the best custodian of it.
I can only say Many Thanks!
for this and your many and 
very great kindnesses!!
You will be missed in this
district for your generosity
and sympathy.

I am glad "Jock" has gotten
good welcome and is pleased
with his new home over there.
I saw Miss Kelly one day; she
and her mother will miss you
very much for your Sunday visits.
I shall be on the watch for any
further reports that may come
here from you.  And I hope
you will be as happy as you
deserve to be
