                   Your kind invitation to me to contribute 
"a paragraph of greeting" to your Eva for the
70th birthday of Mrs. Elizabeth Cady Stanton has
just reached me on my return from the
meetings of the American Woman Suffrage
Association at Minneapolis. I trust it is not
too late for me to congratulate Mrs. Stanton
on having completed three score and ten 
years. Still more is she to be congratulated
that it has been her privilege to devote nearly
half of her life to the sacred cause of Equal
Rights for women. If she does not see
the final triumph, she can at least look
back over a  long series of victories. Every one
of them bringing her sex nearer to the enjoyment
 of Equal Human rights. Let us hope 
that she may live to see the complete enfranchisement 
of women, and the good that is
sure to result.
