KedzieOberlin Dec 4, 1846 Reply to the other page Respected Clasmate Your letter of the 26 ult. bidding us a kind farewell was duly received & thank you for it. From what I seen, and from what I had heard I suppose that feelings were entertained by you which would forever preclude even this much. But Robert I have never felt coldness or hate toward you. For a little moment I did indeed find that you were not kind in endeavoring as I then supposed you did. to have these articles read in the Lit. Soc. but it vanishes when I learned the facts in the case. I have always felt that misunderstanding and the bitter tongue were at the foundation of the whole matter, and were the great cause of the alienation of feeling which has been as painfully manifest In bidding you farewell if it as a final one, permit me, cordially to wish you success wherever you may be and the happiness that flows from conscious rectitude.
