CATT, Carrie Chapman GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE Bowen, Louise de Koven July 8, 1927 Dear Mrs. Catt: May I thank you for your article regarding Miss Addams and the D. A. R. in the last issue of the Woman Citizen? It is a real contribution to the cause of justice when a woman with your ability and courage says a few truths of the kind contained in your article. The campaign of vilification and slander instituted by the D. A. R. and other so-called patriotic societies and individuals against Miss Addams, is not only deplorable but outrageous, and it gave me the keenest pleasure to read your defense of the fine women who have devoted their lives to the cause of humanity. May I again thank you for your good article? Louise de Koven Bowen. Bar Harbor, Maine. Transcribed and reviewed by volunteers participating in the By The People project at crowd.loc.gov.
