CATT, CArrie Chapman General Correspondance Bradford, MAry C. C. November 6, 1930. Mrs. Mary C. C. Bradford, 1735 Beallaire Street, Denver, Colorado. My dear Mrs. Bradford: Perhaps you know that recently I received the “Achievement Award” given by the Pictorial Review through a committee composing a Board of nineteen. As a matter of fact, this person is put up by correspondence and a campaign is conducted on her behalf. At any rate, I knew nothing about it until I was summoned by the manager of the Pictorial review who said the money was given because of my work for woman suffrage and for peace. It was the most astounding surprise in a long life. Of course, if there was any achievement in winning the vote, it was collective and all the women who worked long and hard for a century behind 1920 share in the final victory. I never shall forget your brave work in Colorado and I hope that with this $100 you will be able to find some way of bringing an added comfort. I am giving away my $5,000 and it will call be gone by the time you receive this letter. Lovingly yours, CCC:HW. Denver, Colorado. Dec. 1st, 1930. Mrs. Cary Chapman Catt, 171 Madison Ave., New York City N. Y. My Beloved Friend, My heartfelt thanks to you for your loving consideration of me in reference to the award you have so richly earned. The material recognition was very opportune and the cordial appreciation you expressed wrapped me in a mantle of happiness. Is there any chance that you may come to Denver next summer when the World Federation is here? It would be such a joy to see you. Believe me always with Love, Faithfully, Mary C. C.
