Catt, Carrie Chapman GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE Tilton, Mrs. William Cast - Prohibition CARRIE CHAPMAN CATT 120 PAINE AVENUE NEW ROCHELLE NEW YORK June 27, 1931 Mrs. William Tilton, 11 Mason Street, Cambridge, Mass. My dear Mrs. Tilton, I am laid up in bed with a broken leg and one of the things I have done has been to make a firm determination that I will connect myself with no further obligations. I have some left from the old schedule and to which I must still adhere. I will not take on any new ones, so I am not going to join your Committee. It would mean letters to be answered and appeals to be made. I am too tired and not well enough to take these things on. You must excuse me. Folks do get old and worn out if you give them time enough. I am sorry that I cannot keep on forever. Sincerely yours, Carrie Chapman Catt CCC:HW.
