Feinberg/Whitman Diaries, etc. Diary Notes Jan & Nov, 1891 Box 3 Folder 18Jan 4 '91 Write this night alone in my 2d story room 'Mickle' street Sunday- feeling middling these days but nothing to boast- persistent grip (influensa - cold in the head)- & bladder trouble (pretty bad) -appetite fair- two substantial meals every day- assimilation digestion &c so-so, but might be worse - Am still writing somewhat- have some pieces accepted (or ordered) in the NA Review Lippincots magazine but rejected by Harper's Century, Cosmopolitan, Scribner's, Arena, Nineteenth Century & five-sixths of the editors & publishers Consider myself comfortable in money matters - have enough -want to leave a fair stake for Ed.(& for Han too) quiet here as I sit alone in den writing The last month had been made gloomy to me by my brother Jeff's death at Saint Louis Nov 29 '91 night 1/2 past 6 -bad six weeks the past the early forenoons & thro' the day- -this horrible indigestion three years -bladder trouble day & night painful -a cold spell just now Dec 3 9 pm the past 24 hours of suffering head belly & bladder) as I ever experienced
