Brooklyn is [situated] latitude---, and occupies the 
western [extremity] end of [a] Long Island, [120 miles lo] so called 
from its length which is 120 mile[s it is] --its width varying from
[eight] five to twelve miles [in width].-only.-- The [aboriginal] native
