Written in ink, with a few words underlined in red, on two sheets
glued together (trimmed) from the Department of Justice, Washington, one of which
is dated 'Dec. 7, 1871 / Audolf', 89 words:  'for "Again old heart
so gay")  a short piece, expressing the idea of constantly recurring
Birth & Death--of one repeatedly born--repeatedly dying
&c. / Piece for conclusion of "Again old heart" &c in which (may
be very brief & ejaculatory) the idea is that [of real] instead of 
death, it is birth--instead of deceace, it is parturition,--instead
of being bound imprisoned in grave, it is escape &
extrication instead of being "an eternal sleep" it is now only 
that I (?we) shall really awake'for "Again old heart so gay"
