To Be  Wrenched, Outraged Is Good for a Nation: prose. A. MS.
          (1p.  7 1/2 x 9 3/4 cm.)
Written in ink on a pink slip cut from a larger piece, with a few
remaining words on the verse (     ng"? poem of it), 58 words:
Not the torpor of safety [assent] only, but wrung to the very heart
To be wrenched, outraged, agitated, is good for a nation.--
I have thought whether those [fea] destructive
[think these are] [f??? or not the??]   darlings, and [that] whether what is
 to strengthen grow & prepare 
called prosperity is not merely sustenance [for]hem?--Not the torpor of [assent] safety only, but 
To be wrenched, outraged
agitated, wrong to the very heart is good for
