My dear Miss Blackwell,
Our intentions 
to bid you farewell and thank you and 
yours for all the many favors shown 
us were frustrated by the weather. We 
had a rainy sendoff and it followed

us to our doorstep. We had a good time
 in Chilmark and are glad that 
Mrs. Pinkham and family will now 
be able to enjoy it. My niece Fanny 
wishes me to say that her Aunt 
Mrs. Villard has sent her kind regards 
to you, and I add mine to 
all your household.
