NAWSA GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE Churchill, Anna Q. 200 Liberty St. Lowell, Mass. Nov. 28 1942 Dear Miss Blackwell, The address of our dear Sophie A. Siebker is Emmastrasse 41 Bremen Germany. I have not been able to reach her there since the war began, almost a year ago. My Christmas greeting of one year ago was returned to me stamped "No means of delivery." I have not heard from her at all for over a year, nor from any one in Germany. I am glad to hear from you. I liked your Easter message to your sincere friend, Anna Quincy Churchill. TUFTS COLLEGE MEDICAL SCHOOL 416 HUNTINGTON AVENUE BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS Home address: 200 Liberty St. Lowell Mass. 22 April 1940 My dear Miss Blackwell, Yesterday I received a postal-card from our mutual friend, Sophie A. Siebker bearing the address of her newly built home: Emmastrasse 41, Bremen, Germany. The card was mailed March 24. She had received my Christmas calendar mailed Dec. 3, 1939 on March 17, 1940! Again I want to thank you for your welcome Easter message. You asked me for Sophie's address when you sent it, so I thought I would send it to you, now that I have it. I am sorry to hear that your eyesight is less keen that it was, but I know that you can see much with your inward eyes that some of us cannot see. So may your courage remain in spite of your handicap. Affectionately, Anna Quincy Churchill. Transcribed and reviewed by contributors participating in the By The People project at crowd.loc.gov.
