NAWSA GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE Clapp, Mrs. William C. Mrs. William Channing Clapp 179 Boston Street Oct. 24th /21 Dear Friend - Miss Blackwell, I thank you very much for your most kind words of sympathy, they have been much to me in this time of great sorrow. Our dear boys are as devoted & kind as possible - but the great loneliness seems more than I can bear, at times. Among the more than one hundred kind letters received, I shall cherish yours highly For you knew him so well and he was very fond of you He always enjoyed the many pretty card which you have sent him in the years past. I enjoyed the delightful call yesterday of another of his cherished friends, like yourself; Miss Ellen Bailey - so dear of her to remember us - for I cannot say me yet. The loneliness seems more than I can bear - Cordially M. A. Clapp Transcribed and reviewed by contributors participating in the By The People project at crowd.loc.gov.
