NAWSA General Correspondence Garrison, Marianne Mrs. Garrison Sunday 181 Pine Ridge Road Waban, Mass. Dear Mr.s Blackwell, I received your kind letter yesterday and thank you for letting me know about "Sunset View." It seemed good to see your handwriting and hear about [Chilmark?], for it broght to mind dear memories. I will certainly keep the place in mind and will let you know if I hear of any prospects. I trust that you and Miss Barry are well and will journey to the Island safely and comfortably and that a happy summer is awaiting you there. Kindest regards from my husband and family and loving greeting to you, Dear Miss Blackwll, from yours affectionately Marianne Garrison (Mrs. [Rhodes?] Garrison) 181 Pine Ridge Road Waban 68 Massachusetts My dear Miss Blackwell: I received your letter of April 20th and May 6th and thank you for letting me know about the house at [Chilmark?]. I am glad, you rented the house for June and July. Then we will be there in August and stay till schools begin, i.e. till September 8th, I think. I wish our stay could be longer, for I anticipate much pleasure and benefit from our vacation, but we are governed by Mr. Garrison's vacation and the children's school. I have tried to have my sister-in-law and aunt come down with us and take Whale-Bungalow. They not quite decided, but if they do, I will let you know soon. We are all looking forward with pleasure to seeing you, dear Miss Blackwell, and with cordial greeting from Mr. Garrison and myself, I am Sincerely yours Marianne Garrison May 10th 1923 Mrs. Garrison 181 Pine Ridge Road Waban 68 Massachusetts March 4, 1923 Dear Miss Blackwell: I received your letter of March 1st asking our plans about your house at Chilmark. We have often spoken about the place and I have had in mind communicating with you. Yes, we would like to be in Chilmark during August and the first week of September and - if it could be arranged suitably with another party we would like to take the house beginning July 21st. Of course this latter proposition holds only, in case it can be arranged suitably, for I would not want to spoil the opportunity of you renting the house for the first half of the summer. You once mentioned to me that t?oo families who had been to Chilmark previously might possibly wish to share the house with us. We might communicate with them and I will also try among my acquaintances. There is one thing I would like to mention regarding the furnishings of the house. Would you be willing to replace some of the mattresses with new ones? Otherwise, I think we can get along very well with the present supplies for the house. In regard to buying, I do not know if it II 181 Pine Ridge Road Waban 68 Massachusetts would be possible for us just now. The price however would be an important factor, and as I have no idea what you consider it worth, I would appreciate it if you would let me know your price. Chilmark has left many pleasant memories, and we like to think and plan for another summer of quiet happy vacation time. I have often wanted to know how you and your friends were, and I would like to inquire for our cousin and her faithful Jack. Mr. Garrison joins me in kindest regards to you, Dear Miss Blackwell and I am Sincerely yours, Marianne Garrison.
