NAWSA General Correspondence Raymore, Charles F. [*1931*] Sept 29 Dear Miss Blackwell I wrote you about Miss Rena Patters death & burial. But I have not heard anything from you? Poor Miss Patter had many Good qualities - and the Greatest courage to meet death I ever saw. Rena Patter's expenses or bills comes due Oct 3d & I have not the money to meet them. Will you kindly send me your usual check for $25. to meet them? I am most crazy over her Bills & the troubles, and I am so loansome, & miss her so Dreadful as we made our home together for 25 years. I never left her a day or night in 25 years - as her sufferings were Dreadful. My health is seriously broke down so I am a great suffer, and can't live long - as I (over) 2 am getting old. I got this far in this letter when yours has come. I beg of you MIss Blackwell to send me at once Rena Pattees check $25. to pay her Sept bills? I put out my Money, work & time for 25 years, & am now all broke down in Nerves & health, & I deserve some help from you as all the Church people say. I beg of you for God & humanity sake do send at once your check for only $25.? Must send this quick - as Rena Pattees Rent must be paid at once! When I can see you I will deliver Miss Rena Pattee dying message to you & letters. Her other friends doing all they can But they cannot pay your part of her expenses. Can't write 3 more now - as I am most crazy over the Bills & troubles I am in. My troubles & Bills now are a million times more then when she was alive. I beg & plead of you don't fail to send me Rena. Pattees Check for $25. at once! Don't lose all your chance for Heaven by deserting Rena Pattee in her Dying time.
