NAWSA General Correspondence Sarkissian, Mihran 229 Ramsya Rd., Harberfield, Sydney, N.S.W., Jan 20, 1945 Miss Alice Stone Blackwell, 1010 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge 38, Mass. Dear Miss Blackwell, Allow me to thank you for your letter, Christmas and New Year's greetings and also for taking the trouble of sending me your two books: "Armenian Poems", and "Some Spanish-American Poets", which I appreciate deeply. I am enclosing two of my poems, not published yet; and will be obliged if you could let me know what you think of them. I am also enclosing a cheque of one pound sterling (four dollars) with the hope that I am doing the right thing. I have already read a little of each book and you definitely have my admiration. You have told more about the Armenians in the introduction of your book, "Armenian Poems", than most of the writers who try to tell in some five hundred pages. The great majority of writers seem to write for themselves, and not for the world. Many thanks again for answering my letter. I wish to leave you with the thought that no matter how many years we may live on this earth we all are a part of the same Infinity which has no beginning and no end. We have always been, and will always be, although in different states. Wishing you many more years for the beautiful life you have lived. Yours sincerely, Mihran Sarkissian Transcribed and reviewed by contributors participating in the By The People project at crowd.loc.gov.
