NAWSA General Correspondence Snow, Jane C. Athol. Aug. 3, 1891. Mrs. Lucy Stone - Dear Madam: Yours of the 31st ult was duly received - I should be most happy to assist in making arrangements for the convention you speak of - but my health will sub-admit of my undertaking anything of the kind. I am always an invalid, just now am suffering more than usual, am confined indoors, and unable to do anything except to wait upon myself a little - If I could have the strength to help in the work you propose, I would do it most gladly, we need the meeting here, sometimes I think we are in heathenish darkness in Athol in regard to the suffrage question, but I seem to be one who can "only stand and wait", it is all that I can do in my state of health. I regret exceedingly to be obliged to make this reply to your application for help in this direction, but I cannot do otherwise. Hoping that you will be most successful in arranging for the meetings, even if we cannot enjoy them here, I am most truly Yours in the cause Jane C. Snow Jane [Crossed out] Anna [Crossed out] C.
