            I am enclosing you herewith the additional receipt
of the $3,000 legacy bequeathed to the National Suffrage Asso-
ciation by Mrs. Frances Fort Brown.  I also enclose a copy of
our constitution and by-laws attested by our secretary, as you
request.

Dear Mrs. Rogers:
In making settlement with U. S. Government for inheritance
taxes on the Estate of Mrs. Frances Fort Brown, we are
required to furnish
1. A receipt from the proper official of each of the
organizations accepting any bequest made by the decedent, showing
the organization's receipt of the bequest.
2. Copies of the constitution and by-laws of each of
the organizations accepting a bequest.
Will you kindly sign and return the enclosed additional receipt,
also send us a copy of your constitution and by-laws certified
to by your president and secretary.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THIS REQUEST BE COMPLIED
WITH IMMEDIATELY.

Dear Sirs:
                I have this morning received your letter enclosing
check for $3,000 in full payment for the bequest in favor of the
National American Woman Suffrage Association contained in the will
of Mrs. Frances Fort Brown.  Thank you very much for forwarding
this check, and I send herewith the receipts in duplicate as requested.
                The National Association appreciates very deeply this
generous provision of Mrs. Brown for its needs and in memory of
her own work and that of her daughter.

Dear Mrs. Rogers:-
                           We are herewith enclosing you our check for $3,000 which
is in full payment for the bequest in your favor contained in the will
of the late Mrs. Frances Fort Brown, of which we are executors.
                           The language of the will, as found in paragraph third,
section (R)   as you have been informed, is as follows:
                           "(R) I give and bequeath to the National American Woman's
Suffrage Association, a corporation, which now has its headquarters
at # 171 Madison Square, New York City, the sum of three thousand dollars
in memory of my daughter, who with me, loved the cause for which it stands."
                            You will kindly execute the enclosed receipts in duplicate
and return them to us at your earliest convenience.
