Be it Remembered, [*THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS*] That I, (Walter) or Walt Whitman resident of the City of Camden, state of New Jersey being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, and considering the uncertainty of life, do therefore make, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say: Item: — I constitute and appoint George William [Washington] Childs, [and] Robert Pearsall Smith [*and Thomas B Harned x*] Trustees of all my personal property contained now in my house No 328 Mickle St Camden New Jersey excepting from this trust all the items specifically named and devised below. II. I direct and instruct the Trustees above named to make such disposition of my personal effects above named as in their judgment will be satisfactory to my friends and the public. III.
