June 16, 1864 Deceased Soldier Request to Forward Missing Papers in Case of Joseph Balle Co C 77 USCT Fort St. Phillip VA. - Formerly 85th D133 Deceased Soldier 77th USCT WAR DEPARTMENT, ADJUTANT GENERAL'S OFFICE Washington, June 10th 1864 SIR: Final statements in the cases of deceased soldiers are required to be sent to the Adjutant General's office in duplicate, with one copy of the Inventory of Effects. The Descriptive List should also be sent in case where the soldier was absent from his Company at the time of his death. Where there were no effects, it should be so stated on a blank for Inventory. Certificates of Disability should be sent in duplicate. Special care should be taken that the date of discharge and signature of the discharging officer should be affixed. No Final Statement, One Inventory, has been received in the case of Joseph Price, of Co. "C" 77th Regiment of U.S. Col Inf. Volunteers, whose papers were forwarded to this office.
