This Commission to continue to force for the term of fives years, unless the same shall be otherwise lawfully determined or annulled by the Major General Commanding. I commanded the 8th USCT at the battle of Olietes Fla from the time the Col Britbley was killed and [?] in command about 7 months-Was in command of the Port of Yellow Bluff Fla on the St Johns river where for several months my daily [?] to general the river from its mouth to Dames creek in distance of about 12 minutes against the Rebel Fort [??]--This was performed in boats, both was and sailboats night and day a most arduous duty during the moths of my tour of duty.
