[CONFEDERATE] MAY 20, 1862 Will of Alabaman Disposes of his property including slaves, named and identified, along with mules and other animals. 2nd I Give Divise and bequeath to my Daughter my Negro boy Jack and Negro girl by the name of Mary 3rd I Give Divise and bequeath to my daughter Mary My Negro boy A???? and one mule 4th I Give and bequeath to my son James one Negro boy by the name of William about thirty years of age [*see inside. 3071B WTST*] State of Alabama. Know all men Montgomery County by these present that I Armstrong Mitchell of the state and County of aforesaid being of a sound and [dispasing?] mind, do make and publish this my last will & testamony hereby revoking all former wills by me made 1st my will is that all of my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate. 2nd I give divise and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth wife of William J. Dionian my Negro boy Jack and a Negro girl by the name of Mary Lizas eight years of age One gray mule and bedstead one feather bed & one cattan bed and one set of bed hangings one turn plow one group one [s?ter] and one set of plane gears also my [Wasdwo?] and one cow & calf also two Deamarra [caves? [reads?] white, 3rd I give divise and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Deam and wife of Wesley Deamand my Negro boy Abram and mule and feather bed & one cattan bed two sheets one blanket and two cover beds one plow & [geov?] as above stated also five hundred dollars in money 4th I give and bequeath Martha S Shaver my Sorell mare & buggy five hundred dollars one cow & calf one [Beaceram?] also the ballance of my [?sed] [relattes?] to be divided between her and Jane Mitchell 5th I give & Bequeath to my son David Mitchell five hundred dollars 6th I give and Bequeath unto my son John Mitchell one bed and furniture and one cow & calf 7th I give and bequeath unto my son James S Mitchell three hundred dollars over one Negro boy by the name of William about thirty years of age Book case with all my books and one black and one [P?] cow and stock of hogs if [Ery?] to be farmed & all my crop after paying all debts and Lastly I do name and appoint James A Mitchell to be the executor of this my last will and testamony in Testamony whereas I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 2nd day of May one thousand eight hundred and sixty two Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of A.C. McDonald Armstrong Mitchell F G C Hanson [?] I also wish and request of my children that the [Agnes?] an the division as above made and tnot have Recaues to Law in the settlement of my estat. The State of Alabama Montgomery County. Personally appeared in open court F G C Hansen a subscribing witness to this paper writing and after being duly sworn deposed and saith that he was present and saw Armstrong Mitchell when he was signed to said paper writing sign the same as his last will and testament that he signed said paper as a witness in the presence of and at the request of the testater and in the presence of the other subscribing witness and that at the time the said Armstrong Mitchell signed said paper writing he was of a sound [dessasin?] of mind memory and understanding and that the other subscribing witness A.
