Bailey) last week, "they had a fight at Waynes Mills, the Yankees retreating with a heavy loss. Our loss was only 25 killed & 75 wounded. In the fight at Waynes Mill, the Virginians gave ground and the 8th Georgia Reg. took it up and so ran the Yankees. The 7th and 8th was in all the fight."
