I guess you received my card before Friday evening. When I wrote you the card I was in a hurry and didnt have time to explain my reasons for not coming, but you can bet it was a good one. I would have to be to keep me away. I sure am sorry if I disappointed
you, for I wouldnt have done it for anything in the world if I could help it. I am coming down as soon as I can and Ill not let you know until I am certain I can go. The reason I didnt come this time was because I was financially embarrassed. It is a pretty good reason isnt it?
I guess it will soon be time to begin playing tennis. I sure enjoy playing. I like it better than any other game although I cant play but hope I will learn a little more about it this summer. Say Myrtle when is your school out? It may be that I can come about the closing of your school.
Say is Harold still liking Mabel as much as he did when I was up at cousin Mollies. Tell him he ought to come up to Knoxville
and see her.
I hope you will have a nice time at the fair and wish I was there to, but you understand I couldnt be under the present circumstances, and hope my financial affairs wont be as bad any more as they were this week.
With much love
