I received your letter several days ago, and have decided to come the time you suggested. I guess I will catch the late train Sat. evening. I think it leaves here about four o’clock. Now mind you, it isn’t a freight! It didn’t get quite so bad as that, but things looked much like it for a while.
[2] I got through with bookkeeping last week or at least passed it by. There was about a week’s work I didn’t get through. I will finish at nights.
Say I am taking typewriting now, and am liking it just fine. It is play work, but tiresome. Now if I could there would be nothing I would enjoy better than teaching you to typewrite. If you take typewriting I suppose you will
[3] take short hand for it isn’t very much benefit to you without. I guess I will be writing you letters on the typewriter before long. I am learning prettie fast but it takes time you know.
I didn’t get any announcement from Dayton. I think Joe has forgotten me. I wrote him a card or two and he didn’t ans. I don’t know what is wrong. I guess though he is fishing
[4] and getting to many nibbles and bites to have time to write . You heard about Joe’s fishing one afternoon did you not? Poor old Joe saw a hard time and got his ears boxed to boot. I believe he was almost ready for Lions View for a while last summer. Say if I don’t get an announcement of the exercise from Jellico next year, I had better know the reason why.
[5] I received a letter from Robert about two weeks ago. He said his school wasn’t out until about June. I sure would like to see him.
Well as it is getting late I will close hoping to see you soon. I guess you will have some time reading this letter, but as the song goes "If you can’t read this it is the pen and don’t lay the blame on me". So good bye.
With love,
