I arrived at Knoxville all right last evening. I think the train got here about 7:6 (?) . There sure is some beautiful scenery by the way of the L and N and more little old tunnels. I think we passed through about six or seven. I took
a good look at Heigh Cliff. I certainly would like to go there. When the train pulled out and Jellico passed out of sight I sure did get blue when I thought it would be over a month and possibly over two before I would see you again. But I hope it will be one month instead of two. I am so lonesome now after having such a good time at Jellico that I dont know what to do with myself. I am not satisfied at anything, only sitting dreaming of Jellico.
Say Myrtle I wanted one of your pictures very much and was going to ask you for one before
I left and I forgot it. So would you please send me one? That is if you havent promised them all and have one to spare and dont care to let me have one.
Did you decide to go to the party? If you did I hope you had a nice time and am sure you did. If you went with Mr. Siler I am sure
you enjoyed his company very much especially if he is as attractive as Sallie. Of course I dont know anything about either of them. They may be attractive if not beautiful and looks is only skin deep and that is not so very much if there is nothing deeper.
I am going to try hard to get a
position here but dont know what my chances are just yet. I am very undecided which I want to do stay here this summer or go home and I guess it would be best to stay here for I am fraid I will forget some of my bookkeeping and I dont know too much now. It is this way, if I stay here and get a position I wont get to go up to cousin Mollies in August. If you come up and stay with cousin Grace you and I could have a pretty good time here. If I go home I will come back in Aug and can stay up to cousin Mollies until they run me off. If you were me which would
you rather do? I really ought to go home and stay this summer for they need me pretty bad this summer. (I came very near contradicting myself here but in fact I ought to go home and again I ought not to).
I am going to Byrds Creek this afternoon to see Cousin Bettie and guess I will be up there about a week. Tell Harold to be sure and let me know when he comes to Knoxville. Ans [answer] real soon and tell me all about the party for I will be eager to know.
With much love,
