The following letters were transcribed from the handwritten originals by the donor. No alterations to this transcription has been made, although spelling errors are indicated with [sic]. Any special emphasis (i.e. underlining) is presented *between asterisks*.
It seems like a year since I have gotten any mail and that it not the worse it may seem like two years before I do get any, but will enjoy the more when I do get one. I am afraid before I get a letter I won't know what one will look like and will have forgotten how to read. I wish you cold have
I wish you cold have seen the the [sic.] beautiful country and scenery we have seen in the last four days. It sure is great and wort the riding the waves a while to see. I don't know just how long it will be until I see the states, but I know darned well they will look good when I do.
Well, I will just have to tell the same old, old story *I am well* and enjoying life as usual. Wish I could tell you all about myself and the things I see but cant. Hope to see you some time this summer and tell you all my pleasures and troubles then. Don't forget to write when you can.
