This will be the last letter you will get from me for awhile. I am so tired and sleepy that I can hardley sit up. I started working yesterday morning at 5:30 and worked hard straight thro. Until 4:00 this morning. We got orders to catch a convoy leaving here the eighteenth and will have to work day and night to make it. We are loading our cargo
now with mines, mine anchors and air-planes. Will go somewhere in Scotland and I am anxious to shove off and get to sea. I don't guess I will here from you any more until I get back and that is a long time to wait isn't it? I will be awful lonesomeaway over there and cant hear from you, but guess I will guess I will just have to make the most of it. Maybe it won't always be like this.
Well, I am so sleepy and my brain is so dull there isn't any use of me trying to write any longer so I will just pipe down. I am going to think a lot about you while I am away and hope you will think of me a little too. Be good and don't work too hard.
Good bye.
With lots of live, but a sad heart
