I am still in God's country and am glad to be, but it won't be for long. I was just looking through some old Our Navy's and cut out some cartoons that are pretty good so am sending them to you. I don't know if you like to look at such things but if you don't you can burn them and no harm is done. They give you a little idea of a sailors life and a few things that happen. Maybe you won't und-
erstand all of them, but I suppose you will most of them.
Well, I got read off yesterday on that court martial and was fined about twenty seven dollars, but will get it back when I am paid off at the end of my cruse. Will be that much better off when I finish my cruse so I should worry.
I made out an allotment to mother for twenty dollars a month today so I guess I will have to stick around on board ship for some time. It's not good for you to go ashore too much and I will be better off.
Have you decided whether you are going to accept that position at Clinton? It seems to me that it would be a wise thing to take it.
I will have to close and turn in. Don't forget to write when you have time, for your letter mean much to me and I will have to do without them for a long time. I will again say goodbye.
With worlds of love
P.S. I'll bet you cuss when you open this letter and see what it is. Forgive me this time and I won't fool you anymore.
