Dearest Mother,
I’m quite tanned by now - spend most of my time out in the sun - I have to do washing about every-other day, as I only have access to an immediate supply of linens that I brought in my mussette bag. Because of the heat and prespiration [sic.] - cramped quarters - grease - and dirt, It’s necessary to go thru the unique procedure of a shower at least twice a week - the shower come from a pitcher of the same name. One of the showerees plays Gunga Din - and so about. You don’t get really clean - but its [sic.] a fair imitation. One pitcher full for washing - another for rinsing. Of course you’ll get these letters all at once. Follow them as a diary. It’s cool at night - thank god. It’s so stuffy in quarters where you sleep so close together. Give my love to Grandpa and Grandma.
All my love,
Wing
