Dearest Mother,
I’ve accomplished nothing since I wrote you last, outside of staying completely on the post and just resting. Hodges is here from Terre Haute and most of the fellows from Nuremburg [sic.] and Mooseburg [sic.]
One you ^start^ to process it takes you only three days to complete - it takes from three weeks to for weeks to completely be free of the army. [?] we’ll be discharged from here.
The letter from H. [Herman?] [Oberely?] told me that the Penn semester doesn’t
begin till the first of Nov. He also confirmed the story of Riteby’s death although. He had no particulars. He said he’d take care of my registration and such red tape. So I believe I’ll make it.
I receive [sic.] your first letter yesterday. No mention of the package and as I’ll be here three or four weeks - I’ll have plenty of time to wait and [expect?].
Have been swimming and catching up on my reading. There isn’t a thing you do in town that you can’t do on the base here - Give my love to Grandma and Grandpa - ought not to be to [sic.] much longer.
All my Love,
Wing
Will look for the candy
etc.
