You are undertaking the duty of the treasure hunter to find the most spectacular treasure, the Library of Congress' surplus books program. [ Music ] >> LOC Staff: Hi, welcome to the surplus books program. We offer free books to libraries, schools, and organizations in need of books. Now to get started eligible applicants can start by completing an application form as well as submitting a letter of introduction. [ Music ] Once approved, the journey begins here in the Madison Building. We have virtually every kind of book imaginable. You'll be able to sort through our huge collection of brand new books such as fiction, non-fiction, medical, cookbooks, books on audio, well you get the idea. You may pick out your books from the many aisles that we have available. Put them here on your assigned shelf then you can take the book home with you or make arrangements to have shipped.
