>> Dayme Arocena: Hello. My name is Dayme Arocena and I would love to talk to you about composition. In my opinion, every single song is a gift. There is not right or wrong way to write a song, but there are always things that you can do to improve your songwriting. First of all, listen to a lot of music. Pay attention to the details. Go deeply. Listen carefully the elements that are inside the songs and try to understand what makes that song sound the way it sounds. At the same time, you can learn about rhythms, genres, music styles, harmony, or what we call harmony, you call chords. All these elements are game-changing and if you dominate them well, you can do whatever you want. Try to study or at least play roughly a harmonic instrument like piano or guitar. As soon as you have that tool by your side, you'll find way easier to put your ideas together. [ Singing ] In my case, I never choose to be a songwriter. It just came, the whole package. Is like, I mean, I just came to the earth to write music, I believe, and I have been writing music since I can't remember. That's why I believe that songwriting, even if it's just one song, is a gift, and inspiration is everywhere. It's all around us all the time. [ Singing ] But you don't have to afraid if inspiration doesn't comes to you naturally. There are so many ways to catch that inspiration, and you just have to train yourself to pick it up. As more music you give to your soul, as more inspiration you'll find in your path.
